Urrbrae offers students a wide range of mathematics experiences. Our classes range from year 8 mathematics at three levels: Essential, General and Advanced, and go right through to Year 12 Specialist Mathematics, Mathematics Methods, General Mathematics and Essential Mathematics. Our students have the option of participating in a full range of extra-curricula activities such as the ASX Sharemarket Game, the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), the ICAS Mathematics Competition, the Maths Olympics and the Computational & Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) competition. Students are able to access help on any day at lunchtime through the supervised maths tuition centre, which is a very popular centre for students to come and get help with any homework, assignment or test preparation.
Congratulations to Sebastian for obtaining full marks in the 2018 ‘Computational & Algorithmic Thinking’ (CAT) competition run by the Australian Mathematics Trust. Sebastian’s result is outstanding, and reflects some of the mathematical student depth we have at Urrbrae.
This year’s 2019 CAT competition will run in April, and it is held in a number of countries.
